St. Anger re-recorded with normal drums

This is pretty cool. I always liked the music and riffs on St. Anger, but I couldn't get past those garbage can sounding drums that ruined everything.

If they would have had normal production on this album, it would have been a great album. The Some Kind Of Monster riff is one of their best ever, IMO. It's amazing how much better the songs sound with normal sounding drums.

This is really good. Looks like the same guy doing all the music. I did the Pepsi Challenge comparing this to the Metallica original. What was Lars thinking on the drum mix? I guess he wasn't. Seems like he gets extremely rich and famous, and suddenly he makes crackpot choices, convinces himself he's genius, and no one dares tell him it's a stupid decision. No one wants to say the King isn't wearing any proverbial clothes.

But who am I say? The album sold 6 million copies. So my opinion probably doesn't matter.

These guys are really talented, especially the one playing all the instruments. The one singing does a great job of approximating Hetfield's voice, too.

The singer seems to have good control over his voice to be able to sings and put growl in when he wants to. That takes some skill to do without blowing out your voice.

The music video for Some Kind Of Monster sounds alot better than the album version. This is how it should have sounded.

That was good. I'm diggin' on that. The only thing about the video is that the interviews during the song were distractions and the questions didn't even get addressed.

I would never be foolish enough to stage dive a crowd like that, though. You know there's going to be that one ass out there with a knife that cuts you somewhere you don't want to be cut.
