Not a speed run, but funny.

Games back in the day were pixelated and somewhat innocuous themed. Today, you're a terrified little girl desperately attempting to sneak away from a Japanese serial killer.

I never understood speed runs.

Recently, I decided to try something similar it in a game I really like, just to see if it clicked.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate has a "Finish the game in less than 3 hours and 30 minutes" challenge.

So I did. It was stressful, annoying, frustrating and just not fun at all. I like farting around looking at the scenery and possibly getting immersed in the world, noticing little details and stuff.

Speed running seems just like memorization of obstacles and blacking out everything else so you don't get distracted.

What I'm trying to ask is, what is the appeal of it for you guys?
Big time playa.

With anything on-line I'd rather immerse myself in the whole thing so you can appreciate all aspects. I'm not much of a gamer but running thru something as quick as possible to post a score seems useless to me... the whole point of entertainment is to entertain yourself...
