Kung Fu Master arcade game

Remember the Kung Fu Master arcade game? The concept was originally based on Bruce Lee's film Game of Death.

I don't remember the arcade version, but it seems I recall a shitty NES game of the same name.

There were a lot of arcade games that were ported to consoles. The worst was when arcade games were ported to Atari 2600 consoles. You couldn't even call it ported since the Atari 2600 just didn't have the horsepower to handle arcade programming. Pac Man was the poster child for horrible appearances of arcade games on Atari 2600. Asteroids was not as bad, though. Atari had to make several modifications to Missile Command to make it work.

Yeah, ports back then suffered a lot, since console hardware was obviously vastly inferior to dedicated boards.

When Sega released the Greatest Console of All Time, the Mega Drive - that's Genesis to you Yanks - they marketed it as the "arcade experience at home."

It was, in a way, but even then, the games were somewhat inferior.

Of course, since games couldn't be ported 1:1, some programmers took some liberties and the console games became a whole lot better when it came to playable fun, even if they were inferior in graphics and sound.

Maybe you remember games like Contra and Bionic Commando, which were 'meh' in the arcades, but insanely popular on the NES.
Big time playa.

Oh, heck yeah! Here's Rush'n' Attack that was ported to NES.
