Ordered some steel targets from these guys. Top notch quality. All the hardware is heavy duty and you can flip the plates when they start to get bowed.

Shooting a pistol is a lot like playing golf. Everyone has their bad day. I'm a fair shot but every once in a while I will have a flyer. I've seen highly trained people have a bad day. Someone has a bad day in one of them Russian training sessions someone won't be going home to fuck Katerina later that night.

My guess is the video makes for good TV/youtube, but the Russian's motivation for filming that exercise was a a psychological operation. Based on my agreement with you that people have "bad days", my gut tells me the Russians don't actually risk doing this exercise/drill but did it for the camera this one time for the intimidation factor to make other countries fear them. They're counting on this video being seen around the world.

The Spetsnaz have a reputation for pushing the danger zone hard in training but that being said they kept things very secretive and yeah playing mind games is something the Russians love to do especially in Soviet times. Who knows how they really train but one thing for sure, they are a tough capable bunch. I would not want to go up against them.

My main pistol for years was one of the older IMI (Israel Military Industries) all steel Jericho's in 9mm. I put thousands of rounds through that pistol and shot it in a lot of matches. I even managed to pop a few ground squirrels with it out in the desert. Still have it. Always liked the CZ 75 platform but liked the Jericho because it was shorter and very well made. You either love em or hate em. I loved mine. Like a lot of people I kind of morphed into the Glock thing. Break the Jericho out every now and then.

The video looks fun. I didn't like the mud and sand tests though. The action was closed, and he was careful how he picked the gun back up not getting anything into the barrel.

The point of the test is the gun is built tight enough to keep the crud out. You don't want the action open. Dump enough crud into any action and thy won't work. Israel dumped the FAL because sand would get in it and it wouldn't run. They went to the AK platform after seeing the Arabs had less problems with those.
